“Good is the enemy of great.” Jim Collins*
“I was normal once … I didn’t like it.” Tom Laughon
Ever really thought about the difference between something good, like maybe enjoying a late night snack of milk and cookies at the kitchen table and experiencing something really, really great?.
For example enjoying that ice cold glass of milk from a pristine Waterford Crystal glass while munching on freshly baked, decadent double-dutch chocolate chip cookies made from some of the finest ingredients known to the culinary world, while dining at the Taj Mahal surrounded by the warmth and laughter of family and friends?
Now THAT may be described as great! Sometimes merely visualizing the same scene but broadening that scope can take a vision or idea from mediocre to magnificent! Catch Your Limit Consulting’s founder, Tom Laughon, calls author Jim Collins' book, *Good to Great, a must read for leaders who want to make the transition that will set them apart from the rest of the pack.
Identify those areas where your organization has the potential to become great (remember that vision!) and those areas that are holding you back and the importance of leadership during these change fraught times.
